Finally- A New Photo Expedition
As I have mentioned many times
on this page- work continues to interrupt my photography work.
I enjoy my work, and work pays the bills, but I am obsessed with
photography. What else could explain why anyone would carry an
antique 8x10 camera and endure the associated frustrations. Why
not invest in the small, lightweight digital system and be done
with it?
I have actually bought a decent
digital camera recently- a few examples of the work are at the
end of this gallery. The new camera is a point and shoot, 10mp,
Leica, and it works very well for the things I choose to use a
digital camera to do. I am not at all disappointed in the camera,
it just is not able to duplicate the results I get from film.
The latest expedition was to Glacier
National Park in Northwestern Montana. Another of the earth's
gorgeous places- and like most national parks- very crowded. It
is good to photograph early in the day to avoid some of the crowds.
Once the tourists have their breakfast, the flood gates open and
tripod space is difficult to find.
The weather for the trip was terrific-
cloudy and cool- just right for black and white, but not for tourists.
It was as though the planets aligned for the week.
Enjoy!
